Rob and I have been focusing on finding foods and spices that will help us take some weight off.  I've been slightly obsessed with staying on my exercise track (on week 8 now :->) and hope to get rid of this jiggly belly that has become wa-a-a-ay too comfortable on my body.  The older you get the harder it is to lose weight.  What I would say to my 40 year old self - 'See that pouch starting?  Do your crunches and planks now!  7 years from now it's going to get ugly !' I've found that spices cumin, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and turmeric are noted to increase metabolism.  ( Yes please !)  After a good workout coconut water is more beneficial in regulating your electrolytes, and lower in calories, than sports drinks.  It also contains more potassium than other drinks which is an important component in helping to build muscle which, in turn, helps you burn more calories. It Makes Me Happy And I Love It

I'm participating in  Mama Kat's (pretty much world famous) Writer's Workshop . My chosen writing prompt:   Something you bought this month that you love. The fact that this little thing makes me so happy may sound odd, but I love it! There are days when a certain item pops in my head and then I'm in search of this said 'item' for days, or weeks, until I find it.  It could be a particular candle holder, a specific lamp design or glass ware.  Things like that.  I don't know why it happens, it just does. My latest was a small pedestal, called a Cupcake Holder, to raise my most recent obsession; birch candle holders.  I found this sweet accent at a gorgeous store in Cannon Beach, OR called Sesame + Lilies.  Gor-Ge-OUS!  This store is a complete knock-out.  (Check out their website). It's been a busy week in the Harrison household.  Our days have been filled with painting the living room (I naively thought our little room would take a day with all four of us working.  It took 4!)  And my husband Rob building a fence for my mom.  I'm helping mightily ;-> by selecting the wood and removing nails from the old boards so we can use it in our little fire pit.   Yum!  Summer time S'more's!   My blogging this past week has been nil so I'm so happy to be a Guest Host this April to see what lovely posts others are writing!  Join us and Enjoy!  Welcome to the 30th week of Turn It Up Tuesday!
