How is it, in all my years, I haven't heard of the word "nadir"? I was reading an Oscar's recap and the word "nadir" was used. Hmmm, I thought. 'Not sure what that is, I'll just keep going along.' Then an article about Heather Armstrong ( Dooce.com ) caught my attention and within the article was that word again, "nadir". What the heck??? What are the chances that within a span of 20 minutes, I would see that same word? For those, like me, who have no idea what this word means, I've looked it up in my Funk & Wagnall's - Nadir: 1: the point of the celestial sphere that is directly opposite the zenith and vertically downward from the observer 2: the lowest point I'm bracing myself. I believe in signs, and in listening to "that little voice". The fact that this word has come into my awareness today puts me on guard. The lowest point. *gulp*
