My Favorite Things Have Changed

If you had asked me in my twenty’s what my favorite things to do were, you would most likely hear; going out to listen to live music, meeting friends for drinks, hanging out at a book store and drinking coffee.  When starting a family took over my life in my thirty’s my favorite things were;  having a “Date Night” with my husband, going to see a movie that wasn't a cartoon, and trying to stay awake to go hear live music.  Now, at this “forty-ish” stage of the game, if you ask me what’s one of my favorite things to do is, I'll probably say, taking a nap.

I’m trying to keep up with my girls, take care of our silly pets and keep up with my responsibilities but, some days, a nap sounds so, so nice.  You know that feeling when your head hits the pillow and you think “this is the best place to be”?  It doesn't happen often enough from the reports I read about adults not getting enough sleep.  My husband is one of them and I thought I could help by finding a super cozy pillow to encourage him to tape The Daily Show and get some needed sleep instead.

I was looking around the web and found some delightful things at http://www.shopdreamteam.com.  The founders of Dream Team, Inc. began their business in Eastern Europe 112 years ago and now create their products in the US.  While perusing their pillow categories I clicked on “Solution Sleepers” and found pillows for back sleepers, side sleepers and stomach sleepers. The Dream Pillow sounds lovely.  But one description really caught my eye, an appetite suppression pillow.  Really?  Their prices are good, I might try this out!

The next category that caught my attention was Spa Therapy.  They have a list of comforters that made me want to order one for every bed in the house!  Soothe comforter, to help ease snoring.  (For no person in particular ;-> )  Rejuvenating Comforter, to help clear the mind and body.  There are so many to choose from.  If it’s been a while since you've changed your pillows, check out ShopDreamTeam.com.

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!)

Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story:

I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair, my hair style was a nightmare.
My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogrammed, Al…

6 Things to Do to Improve Your Homes Water Quality

Water is an essential element that everyone needs for drinking, washing, and thriving. Many people don’t take the time to think about the quality of their water in their home. If your water quality is poor, that may have an impact on your health and your family’s well being. Whether you get your water from a well or your city’s water service, it’s important to think about its quality. Here are 6 actions you can take to help improve your water’s quality.
1. Test Your Water
It’s a smart idea to periodically test your water. If you are purchasing a new home, building new construction, or signing a new lease for an apartment or condo, make sure you test your water before moving in. There are inexpensive home water testing kits you can easily complete yourself.
