Such a busy weekend in Portland, OR! The weather is absolutely gorgeous - sunny and 75 degrees - and there were so many things to do! You can only be in so many places at one time so here's a bit of the fun:
Greek Festival Time!
First stop, the annual Greek Festival at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in NE Portland. This is the 61st annual and it's a fantastic party! (There is no true Greek blood in our veins but we have a blast being Greek for a day!) The dessert, Bougasta, is my favorite. Gyro's, Souvlaki, Loukoumades. So delicious.
And who can argue with the Church when this is their rule?
After a full day of fun on Saturday, we looked forward to a quieter (car traffic wise) morning on Sunday with The Portland Marathon running on our street. We don't run, or walk, but we cheer on the participants for the 26.2 mile marathon.
Our neighbors at the end of our block have a great gathering every year. Brunch for the spectators (Mimosa? Yes please!) and sprinklers for the participants. So fun!
Later that day we attended a family birthday party, then returned home to relax. Actually, I relaxed. Rob took Katie to the theater (where he's opening this Thursday in The Curious Savage) so they could do some much needed backroom cleaning to prep for the performance. Pictures of that to come!

This is the beginning of over 15,000 people running or walking past our home. They were amazing. So exciting! |
