Where Are My Eyes?

"Have you seen my glasses?"

I hear this at least once a week from my husband.  "They were right here... I thought?"  Then we go through the usual script of 'Have you checked the desk? The night stand? Your car?' I'm sure, if you're an eyeglass wearer, or live with one, you have a very similar dialogue.

On more than one occasion we've had to buy another pair to replace the missing glasses.  (Which leads me to wonder, did he really just want a different style of frame and this is his sly way of going about it? ;-> ).  Thankfully we've found a wonderful site for the eyeglass wearer, full of wonderful styles and options at terrific prices, GlassesUSA.com

GlassesUSA.com has designer styles for men & women.  Their lens types range from reading, bifocal/multifocal glasses, single to prescription sunglasses.  What's really fun is their Virtual Mirror. Just upload a picture of yourself and try on any of their styles. We've had lots of fun with this feature!  (We've even downloaded a picture of our dog Benny, yep, we really have.)

GlassesUSA.com is having a Back-To-School Sale that has some great deals I want to share with you.
  • BOGO: Buy any pair of glasses valued at $50 or more and get a second pair of glasses FREE! Code: Back2School
  • Take $25 off any order of glasses with Transitions lenses with the code: Trans25
  • Take 10% off any order. Code: Blog10
I've read that 60% of all adults wear eyeglasses and most of them are over paying for their eye wear.  I hope I've helped my blog friends who wear eyeglasses save some $$$.  There's nothing wrong with cheap glasses, if they're good quality.

(*I'm sharing this info. with you because this company has helped us, honestly :-> )

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!)

Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story:

I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair, my hair style was a nightmare.
My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogrammed, Al…

How to Find the Safest Gear for your Baby

Nothing compares to the joys of being a parent. Having a newborn in the family brings couples closer and makes the entire household more cheerful and interesting. But as we all know, being a parent is not just about spending time with your baby. More than anything else, it also requires exerting a lot of effort to make sure that your baby is always safe and free from potential hazards. To further help you in this endeavor, here are some useful tips for finding the safest gear for your baby as you go through various baby product guides:

Opt for a non-toxic gear. The first thing you need to check is the composition of the safety gear. What is the material made from? Is it non-toxic? Be sure that it is because babies have a strong tendency to put everything they see or touch in their mouths. It goes without saying that a safety gear that is made from toxic materials could poison your baby, in the long run, so be very careful about the safety gears you purchase.
Make sure it is sturdy. The …

6 Things to Do to Improve Your Homes Water Quality

Water is an essential element that everyone needs for drinking, washing, and thriving. Many people don’t take the time to think about the quality of their water in their home. If your water quality is poor, that may have an impact on your health and your family’s well being. Whether you get your water from a well or your city’s water service, it’s important to think about its quality. Here are 6 actions you can take to help improve your water’s quality.
1. Test Your Water
It’s a smart idea to periodically test your water. If you are purchasing a new home, building new construction, or signing a new lease for an apartment or condo, make sure you test your water before moving in. There are inexpensive home water testing kits you can easily complete yourself.
