How is it, in all my years, I haven't heard of the word "nadir"?
I was reading an Oscar's recap and the word "nadir" was used. Hmmm, I thought. 'Not sure what that is, I'll just keep going along.'
Then an article about Heather Armstrong (Dooce.com) caught my attention and within the article was that word again, "nadir". What the heck??? What are the chances that within a span of 20 minutes, I would see that same word?
For those, like me, who have no idea what this word means, I've looked it up in my Funk & Wagnall's -
Nadir:
1: the point of the celestial sphere that is directly opposite the zenith and vertically downward from the observer
2: the lowest point
I'm bracing myself. I believe in signs, and in listening to "that little voice". The fact that this word has come into my awareness today puts me on guard. The lowest point. *gulp*
