Virtual GNO - Working At The Mom Thing - And A Giveaway!

Mother's Day is Sunday and this morning I growled at my daughter. (You know, that deep throat grumble that's one step away from all out screaming). Well... I guess no "Mother Of The Year" awards are coming my way.

She can just be so much. All. The. Time. And I couldn't believe that she was ready to rumble first thing in the morning, I mean, come on?! I feel terrible. You know what I need? A Virtual Girls Night Out! (A real one would be best :-> )

New to the party? Welcome! The original Virtual Girls Night Out (boys welcome too) is a blog-hopping party that began in the summer of 2008. I couldn't get a sitter and I needed time away from my children desperately. So, I did the next best thing and turned to my blog friends. This is how we do it. Check out my VGNO post then sign the Mr. Linky guestbook below. Visit fellow bloggers that have signed in as well. Go blog-hopping!

Now, go put on something cozy and settle in for the party. Add your blog link to Mr. Linky below and join in the blog-hopping fun!

Time To Dance!

Des'ree - "You Gotta Be"

That's right! Be bad, be bold, be wiser. I've got to work on the "Cool, calm, gotta stick together" part today. (*Deep Breath*)

Time For A Cocktail!

5 oz Orange Juice
5 oz Ginger Ale
1 Dash Mango Nectar
1 Mandarin Piece

Pour orange juice and ginger ale in equal parts into a chilled highball glass. Add mango nectar. Slowly add Champagne. Garnish with speared mandarin piece, and serve.

If I start my day with some of these I'll be picking my girls up from school after a little nappy-poo. Dirty laundry? What dirty laundry? Smells fine to me! *hiccup*

Time For Sharing!

I've been sharing that I've started a real exercise program. I'm excited and also nervous. I've joined a gym and its brought out my stupid anxiety. None of the scenarios I see in my head come true, which leads me to a question for you all. Have you ever had one of those visions of walking into a room and everyone is staring at you and you realize you tucked your skirt into your underwear? OK now, have you ever actually DONE something like that? Or anything along those lines? Come on now, share :->

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!) Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story: I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair , my hair style was a nightmare. My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogram
