Virtual GNO - I'm Bubbles Ivanabee-Queen!

Woot! Woot!

How is everyone doing?

I've been having a good time working at my daughter's school Library this week. The catalog system is being converted on-line and it's a big undertaking. And you know what surprises me most? After handling almost all of the books in that room my hands would get filthy. Just filthy!!! A professional Librarian guiding the project told us to beware of possible infections of mold in our lungs from the books. What?!?! I need to get my mind off of that. You know what I need? A Virtual Girls Night Out!

For those that are new to our party, a Virtual Girls Night Out (boys welcome too) is a blog-hopping party. The party starts here! You sign the Mr. Linky guestbook then visit fellow bloggers that have signed in as well. So go put on something cozy and settle-in for the party. Please add your blog link to Mr. Linky below and join in the blog-hopping fun.

Time For Some Tunes!

Ari Hest "So Slow"

Oh! Will she turn around? Or will she keep walking? Will he run after her? I love this guy Ari Hest. And get this, at a show that was for 21 & over he went out to the parking lot and played for the kids that couldn't get in. How great is he? :->

Time For A Cocktail!

After hanging out in the Library this recipe sounds interesting.

Darien Librarian
Ingredients:
2 oz whiskey
2 oz cola
2 oz ginger ale
Directions:
Build over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

After a couple of these I could care less about the Dewey Decimal system. Shhhh!

Time For A Party Game!

Since I have been surrounded by books, words and names are swirling in my head. I could even see myself as a Librarian. But one with a bit of a wild side. Let's see what my alter ego name would be.

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!)

Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story:

I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair, my hair style was a nightmare.
My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogrammed, Al…

How to Find the Safest Gear for your Baby

Nothing compares to the joys of being a parent. Having a newborn in the family brings couples closer and makes the entire household more cheerful and interesting. But as we all know, being a parent is not just about spending time with your baby. More than anything else, it also requires exerting a lot of effort to make sure that your baby is always safe and free from potential hazards. To further help you in this endeavor, here are some useful tips for finding the safest gear for your baby as you go through various baby product guides:

Opt for a non-toxic gear. The first thing you need to check is the composition of the safety gear. What is the material made from? Is it non-toxic? Be sure that it is because babies have a strong tendency to put everything they see or touch in their mouths. It goes without saying that a safety gear that is made from toxic materials could poison your baby, in the long run, so be very careful about the safety gears you purchase.
Make sure it is sturdy. The …

Yes, I'm a Dork for the Grocery Outlet

So our neighborhood was notified that a Grocery Outlet - Bargain Market would be opening in the new year.  I can't tell you how thrilled I was to hear this!  And when I received my friendly Grocery Outlet postcard with my friendly notice of the friendly festivities for their Grand Opening I actually put it on my calendar.  I knew exactly where I was going to be on Saturday morning.

Whoo Hoo! There was a giant "Wheel - o - Bargains".  I spun and won a $1 off my purchase.  Oh man I can't tell you how happy I am when I get money off my purchase.  yeah baby.  We were one of the first 1000 customer's so my husband and I received free Grocery Outlet - Bargain Market reusable bags!  (Rob was so excited.  Yes, he can be a dork sometimes too.)

What is it about this place?  Most of the items are things that I've never heard of, or have any interest in, however I am drawn to it like a kid to a candy store.  (Or better yet, like a wine lovin' mom who's found some…
