Sharing Things I Like

I think I'm supposed to be somewhere today. I have this nagging feeling that I have an appointment, or that some thing is due at school, or that someone needs me today and I can't remember what it is!
I've checked the calendar, my little notebook, the pad of paper by the phone and nothing is there. Is there a deadline I'm missing? I can't get rid of this nagging feeling. Hmmm...
Does this ever happen to you?

Well, let me go in a completely different direction from my normal blog entries and share some things that I truly enjoy. None of these items were gifts, etc. I actually bought them with my own piggy-bank money and am so happy with them. I think my blog pals should know about them.
First off, let me tell ya', I am a lipstick junkie. I'm constantly searching for the perfect lipstick. And here's my latest find. L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lipcolor.
Oh yeah! I've purchased 2 of these and I'm going back for more. The compact is also a little mirror! I prefer the wand applicator, not the lip-stick. (The front of the display clarifies which is which.) Try it. Tell me what you think. (And Jenboglass, you can come up with all the lipstick color names you want. I happen to like your idea of "Gingery Firemaiden".)

Next item, and this is for the 35-and-over crowd; Anti-Wrinkle cream. (Which led my brother-in-law to ask "Why isn't there and Uncle Wrinkle cream?" That's now his nickname. His name is Rick, so it fits.)
I'm also a junkie for wrinkle-be-gone creams and I've found a good one. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. How intense does that sound?!? It smells great and it appears to be working very well. I don't have any before & after pictures, sorry.
Now, like most creams, this seems spendy to me, and I know that stores like Walgreen's and Rite-Aid have their own versions. In these tough times I'm not above getting the 'generic' version. I know for a fact that Walgreen's version comes in the beautiful red jar as well. And that it smells great too. I'm just saying.

Now here's one for everyone, a laundry detergent. Arm & Hammer Plus Oxy Clean. It works so-o-o well! And the Spring Fresh smells great. (I'm big on smells you might have noticed. Something can be the best product around, but if it doesn't smell good I probably won't use it.)

So there you have it! If you try any of these things let me know what you thought.
Now, I still have that nagging feeling that I'm supposed to be somewhere else. Ugh. Well I'll find out sooner or later by receiving a phone call from someone whose annoyed or having my girls roll their eyes at me when I pick them up from school. It's so fun being a mom some days! ( Major eye roll...)

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!) Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story: I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair , my hair style was a nightmare. My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogram

My Questions Answered By Chef Pati Jinich - Video

Rob and I have been focusing on finding foods and spices that will help us take some weight off.  I've been slightly obsessed with staying on my exercise track (on week 8 now :->) and hope to get rid of this jiggly belly that has become wa-a-a-ay too comfortable on my body.  The older you get the harder it is to lose weight.  What I would say to my 40 year old self - 'See that pouch starting?  Do your crunches and planks now!  7 years from now it's going to get ugly !' I've found that spices cumin, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and turmeric are noted to increase metabolism.  ( Yes please !)  After a good workout coconut water is more beneficial in regulating your electrolytes, and lower in calories, than sports drinks.  It also contains more potassium than other drinks which is an important component in helping to build muscle which, in turn, helps you burn more calories. And my most surprising discovery - eating avocados help burn belly fat! I&#
