Last Call! - Virtual GNO - Last Weekend Of Summer

Alright!!!
The Race For The Cure was terrific this morning! I headed out the door with my 10 year old daughter and grabbed the hands of my mom and sister and off we went. There were an estimated 45,000 that participated! (Good thing I took it easy with the wine last night or else it would have felt like 100,000.) God bless and take care of all that need God's grace today, and always.
Now I'm going to go grab a beverage and put a parasole in it and dance! I'm going to play something from one of my new favorite bands.
Don't be afraid to mingle at our Girls Night Out. When someone leaves a comment go visit their blog and leave a comment. And when your blog is visited, go visit your guests blog. Keep the momentum going. And invite some of your blog pals if you like!
Come back though! It's a party!

Guillemots "Made Up Love Song"

Whew! Man I am loving this band!

I found something that makes me giggle so much because it's so-o-o absurd! I'm going to go freshen my drink. Watch this!

Michael Phelps - Poor Sportsmanship

I was so caught up in Michael Phelps making Olympic History that this caught me off-guard at first. It took me a little while to realize that the defeated swimmer was an actor. (Hello Ann?! The soft, pudgy shoulders? Hello?) Just the idea of Michael Phelps flipping someone off makes me laugh.

Here's a tune that closes out the evening (or does it? *wink* *wink*). I'm not a fan of disjointed people showing off their "talent", so parts of the video I have to look away from, but this song is just right for tonight.

Razorlight "In The Morning"

So go mingle at our Girls Night Out. I didn't share a wide-spread invitation like I have in the past because I found that some people don't like to be invited to a party. Hmmm?! Very curious who is in my "friends" list. If you would like to invite some of your blog pals that would be super! The more the merrier!
I'm going to go freshen my drink! I'll be back!

Oh Nancy, I've been trying to find a video of "Wipe Out" and I haven't found anything that's a good quality. I'll keep looking!

Remember... when someone leaves a comment go visit their blog and leave a comment. And when your blog is visited, go visit your guests blog. Keep the momentum going.
Come back though! It's a party!

I hope this Virtual GNO has helped facing Monday morning a little easier.

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!)

Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story:

I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair, my hair style was a nightmare.
My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogrammed, Al…

6 Things to Do to Improve Your Homes Water Quality

Water is an essential element that everyone needs for drinking, washing, and thriving. Many people don’t take the time to think about the quality of their water in their home. If your water quality is poor, that may have an impact on your health and your family’s well being. Whether you get your water from a well or your city’s water service, it’s important to think about its quality. Here are 6 actions you can take to help improve your water’s quality.
1. Test Your Water
It’s a smart idea to periodically test your water. If you are purchasing a new home, building new construction, or signing a new lease for an apartment or condo, make sure you test your water before moving in.
