G.N.O. Saturday Night! - Last Weekend Of Summer!

Oh Yes!!! We're back for another night! I'm going to be joining thousands in the Race For The Cure tomorrow, so I should ;-> take it easy tonight.
I've got some music requests so while I get those in order, I'm going to grab a drink and start the evening with my 80's Flashback. This song just gets me goin'!
(How old am I? Old!!!)

General Public "Tenderness"

Man, his googlie-eyes kind of freak me out, but he's still cute.

Hey, have you seen the Black Box project? It's based on Caroline Smailes's new novel, "Black Boxes". The books theme is how different choices can effect your path in life. For this project you must make a series of choices and then you will be taken to a mystery blog of another person taking part who picked similar answers to you.... who knows where your answers may lead! Give it a try! Come back and tell us the blog that you found.
(Thanks Cheryl at The Daily Blonde and IrishKat at Sassy Irish Lassie)

I need to get this book!

You can put the Black Boxes widget on your own blog. Let me know if you need my help.

And now I just have to share this. I know a lot of you have seen this, however, it is so fantastic, so amazing, just absolute perfection that I just have to share it.
Here's a word from Saturday Night Live via Tina Fey & Amy Poehler.

Alright. Time for some music. Blarney at The Blarney Spot has a request, so let's grab our drinks, slam our fists in the air and sing at the top our lungs!!!

4 Non Blondes "What's Up?"

So go mingle at our Girls Night Out. I didn't share a wide-spread invitation like I have in the past because I found that some people don't like to be invited to a party. Hmmm?! I just shake my head and say 'What's Going On?!?' If you would like to invite some of your blog pals that would be super! The more the merrier!
I'm going to go freshen my drink! I'll be back!
Remember... when someone leaves a comment go visit their blog and leave a comment. And when your blog is visited, go visit your guests blog. Keep the momentum going.
Come back though! It's a party!

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!)

Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story:

I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair, my hair style was a nightmare.
My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogrammed, Al…

Nothing compares to the joys of being a parent. Having a newborn in the family brings couples closer and makes the entire household more cheerful and interesting. But as we all know, being a parent is not just about spending time with your baby. More than anything else, it also requires exerting a lot of effort to make sure that your baby is always safe and free from potential hazards. To further help you in this endeavor, here are some useful tips for finding the safest gear for your baby as you go through various baby product guides:

Opt for a non-toxic gear. The first thing you need to check is the composition of the safety gear. What is the material made from? Is it non-toxic? Be sure that it is because babies have a strong tendency to put everything they see or touch in their mouths. It goes without saying that a safety gear that is made from toxic materials could poison your baby, in the long run, so be very careful about the safety gears you purchase.
Make sure it is sturdy. The …

Water is an essential element that everyone needs for drinking, washing, and thriving. Many people don’t take the time to think about the quality of their water in their home. If your water quality is poor, that may have an impact on your health and your family’s well being. Whether you get your water from a well or your city’s water service, it’s important to think about its quality. Here are 6 actions you can take to help improve your water’s quality.
1. Test Your Water
It’s a smart idea to periodically test your water. If you are purchasing a new home, building new construction, or signing a new lease for an apartment or condo, make sure you test your water before moving in. There are inexpensive home water testing kits you can easily complete yourself. Home testing kits can give you a better idea of the chemical concentration of your water and whether or not there are any contaminants in your tap.
