Your Virtual Girls Night Out is BACK! I'm Sunscreen Barbie!

Ann Again... and again Virtual Girls Night Out

Yeah Baby!  After taking the past, oh, I'd say 6 months of Friday nights off, I do believe I'll kick-start this Virtual Girls Night Out party back up!  This virtual gathering began over 3 years ago. This is for those of us who aren't able to actually get out of the house and party; possible baby-sitter problem, or just exhaustion from a long week and there is no way anyone is going to make you get out of your comfy clothes and fuzzy slippers.  So get cozy and get ready for our own Friday night Virtual Girls Night Out! Cheers :->  (*Leave a comment with your blog link so I know you stopped by*)

Time For Some Tunes!

Michael Kiwanuka  "Tell Me A Story"

I heard this song on the radio the other morning and I scrambled to my iPhone to get on SoundHound to find out who it was.  Hope you like.

My latest favorite.  Perfect song for the warm, sunny days to come.

Time For A Cocktail!

(Normally I would show a pic of the cocktail right here but I had a most unfortunate circumstance with Getty Images sending a huge document claiming I had used one of their images and that I owed them over $700 dollars.  Um, no I did not, however dealing with it all freaked me out enough that there's no pretty picture of a cocktail in this space.  *Imagination time*)

Get your Irish On!

Ingredients:1 oz gin
1 tsp green crème de menthe
2 dashes bitters
Preparation:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes.  Shake well.  Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Sláinte!

Time For A Party Game!

As I look around my house I see a LOT of Barbie's. There's the Barbie in her scuba suit and the Barbie who's a Vet. These Barbie's are outside on the swing-set and in the garden too. But, these dolls don't represent the way I think they should. If I were a Barbie I would be "Sunscreen Barbie". Follow the chart below to see which Barbie you would be.

"Modern Barbie"
(Use the chart to find which Barbie you are. Use the letter of your first name.)

A - D = Sunscreen Barbie
E - H = Lactose Intolerate Barbie
I - L = Migraine Barbie
M - P = No Carbs For Me Barbie
Q - T = Mini Van Barbie
U - Z = Have You Seen My Keys? Barbie

Now, which Barbie are you? (If you want to tweak this a bit, go right ahead.)

    1. I hear ya' sista'! I wonder what that Barbie would look like? Perhaps she would come w/ a button to push to recreate occasional hot flashes and a stomach that looks like a beer belly, only it's not from beer.

I'm so happy that we connected through Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop!

  4. I am Lactose Intolerant Barbie. I am thankful that I am not really lactose intolerant because I love ice cream and milk products.

  5. LOL. I'd be No Carbs for Me Barbie and that fits me perfectly. I'd be the Barbie off in the corner munching on veggies while everyone else is eating pizza.

  7. I'm Migraine Barbie, which is odd, because I actually do suffer from migraines, and I'm sitting on my couch is my warm-ups, and I'm not going anywhere.

    Stopping by from VoiceBoks!

    1. Hi Laura,

It sounds like this weeks Virtual GNO is perfect for you. (sans the actual migraine.) Thank you so much for joining the party! Isn't VoiceBoks a great way to connect with bloggers?

  8. What a cool post! And I'm Sunscreen Barbie, too! (Which is quite appropriate seeing how hot it already is in the Philippines, lol.)

    1. Thanks for joining the fun Czjai. And, please share, how hot is it in the Philippines now? Also, could you send a phonetic pronunciation of your first name? :->

  9. I remember you writing about the photo thing before, and I think a crack down on that is probably coming. Especially for the companies who can afford lawyers. I'm working on a solution though, for all of us little bloggers;) By the way, I'm no carb Barbie too!;) Eating and your 40's don't go together anymore.

    1. You have that right Courtney! I'm in my mid-40's and it is taking me twice, no three-times-as-much-effort, to get my flabby fanny and blubbery belly into shape. I'm on my 5th week of an exercise regime that I actually really like (there are results) but it's taking so much longer to get "there".

And regarding the Getty Images situation, once I deleted the image they had no recourse on their money demands. It was an unnecessary stress. When I use other peoples images they are from free sites, so I'm still confused. I'm looking forward to reading your solution!
