Time For Some Tunes!

The Script "The Man Who Can't Be Moved"

I just love sweet Irish boys ;->.    If the title of this song was "The Car That Can't Be Moved" I would dedicate it to my car.  Flippin' Isuzu!!!    It's at its 3rd garage now.  "Maybe Tuesday", they said.   We'll see.

Time For A Cocktail!

It's getting hot here in Portland.  How are things your way?  Let's cool down with an adult version of this chilly treat.

2 oz raspberry schnapps
7-Up® soda
1 oz grenadine syrup
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
Ice cubes
Fill glass with ice, then add schnapps & 7-Up. Add Grenadine and let settle to the bottom of the glass. Carefully float the Blue Curacao over the top of the drink.

Time For A Project!

Last summer we started The Heart-Shaped Rock Project.   The "little gem" got lost in a house along the way, so... due to lovely requests... I'm going to start it again!

The Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project - Part 2.
If you would like to participate here's what you do;  send your name & address to annharrisonATcomcastDOTnet.  I'll create a chart of those that participate.  Once you receive our little heart-shaped gem in the mail take a picture of it with something that represents you, it could be an object, a place, whatever you like.  Post the picture on your blog letting your readers know you are participating in The Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project.  Also, when you receive our little gem, let me know and I'll send you the name & address of the next blogger to mail the little gem to.    On and on it goes!  (I hope :-> ).  At the end of it's journey I'll create a slideshow of your pics.
Here's "TTHSRP" the first time around:

Please join us in "The Traveling Heart-Shaped Rock Project - Part 2".  I can't wait to see your photos!!!

OK friends, off we go to show our support and blog-hop! Add your blog link and visit those that have left their links. Go mingle! Happy VGNO!

Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!)

Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story:

I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair, my hair style was a nightmare.
My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogrammed, Al…

How to Find the Safest Gear for your Baby

Nothing compares to the joys of being a parent. Having a newborn in the family brings couples closer and makes the entire household more cheerful and interesting. But as we all know, being a parent is not just about spending time with your baby. More than anything else, it also requires exerting a lot of effort to make sure that your baby is always safe and free from potential hazards. To further help you in this endeavor, here are some useful tips for finding the safest gear for your baby as you go through various baby product guides:

Opt for a non-toxic gear. The first thing you need to check is the composition of the safety gear. What is the material made from? Is it non-toxic? Be sure that it is because babies have a strong tendency to put everything they see or touch in their mouths. It goes without saying that a safety gear that is made from toxic materials could poison your baby, in the long run, so be very careful about the safety gears you purchase.
Make sure it is sturdy. The …

Yes, I'm a Dork for the Grocery Outlet

So our neighborhood was notified that a Grocery Outlet - Bargain Market would be opening in the new year.  I can't tell you how thrilled I was to hear this!  And when I received my friendly Grocery Outlet postcard with my friendly notice of the friendly festivities for their Grand Opening I actually put it on my calendar.  I knew exactly where I was going to be on Saturday morning.

Whoo Hoo! There was a giant "Wheel - o - Bargains".  I spun and won a $1 off my purchase.  Oh man I can't tell you how happy I am when I get money off my purchase.  yeah baby.  We were one of the first 1000 customer's so my husband and I received free Grocery Outlet - Bargain Market reusable bags!  (Rob was so excited.  Yes, he can be a dork sometimes too.)

What is it about this place?  Most of the items are things that I've never heard of, or have any interest in, however I am drawn to it like a kid to a candy store.  (Or better yet, like a wine lovin' mom who's found some…
