"I'm going to the bathroom. And I'm taking this with me". My eight year old made this statement while grabbing a pink pom-pom. She grabbed the handle of the pink puff ball and headed down the hall, dancing all the way.
I loved it.
I want to be more like her.
Where does the "fun" go? How do we lose the playfulness? As of today I'm making a pledge to find more silliness, more joy in my day.
Time's are just so flippin' hard. I need to give my spirit a lift.

That reminded me of Jim Carey in Liar Liar grabbing the air freshener form the garage that was ripping him off "See this, I'm taking this!!" What a cutie. I have two of thos in my house and they always (except when they don't) inspire sillines...
ReplyDeleteAhhhh silliness. The spice of life. :-D
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that your inspiration was your little girl!
I love this picture of your daughter! So cute and carefree! (Great t-shirt too!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that your Muse is about her. Children can teach us so much about ourselves if only we stop to pay attention. :)
Hope you're having a good Monday.
PS- So funny that you had a yummy caramel apple over the weekend. I was SOOOO craving one, which was the main reason we went to the pumpkin farm! Not one but TWO places were totally out of them, so I had to settle for homemade cider donuts. Not exactly a hardship, but still! I need my carmel apple fix, and soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. My 20 year old isn't afraid of being silly and having fun.
ReplyDeleteI have followed in her footsteps...a little bit. I think I could let go a lot more. Fun is fun. Life is short. Our problems will still be there after a good laugh or smile. Being grumpy doesn't help. Ha. Easier said than done, right?!
silly and laughter are the best medicine.
ReplyDeleteI never am a at a loss for silliness to the horror of my oldest daugther. lol. She is a logical minded..sensible young woman of 11! LOL. I guess silly at 36 is a different kind of silly at 11. lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have your children home to remind you of what it's like to be silly. I have two grandchildren now and my 2 yo one is always making me laugh at how silly he can be. He loves it so much when we laugh at something he does.
ReplyDeleteMakes ya wonder what she was doing with the pom pom in the bathroom. Love her outfit!
ReplyDeleteJustine :o )
I think because I spend so much time with Tara one on one, and she can be very silly, that I am silly every day.... sometimes my mom doesn't get the silliness, and thinks Tara is serious about things she says.
ReplyDeleteTara takes her laptop to the bathroom, I think that is WEIRD. I don't even Twitter in loo!
Love the photo, Delaney's just like that, tie dye & all...Oaks Park right? We had a blast there for one of D's friend's parties in August.
ReplyDeletethe older we get we do loose our fun, but just yesterday Will and I got really silly and danced around the house to Laurie Berkner and man it was fun! Hope you are doing well!
