Virtual GNO - I'd Rather Be... & A Giveaway!

As we settle into summer temperatures around 90 degrees, I'm OK with that. I mean, I'd rather deal with that then crazy 100 + temperatures. It's incredible what a difference those few digits make. I'm ready to sip something cold, sit in front of a fan and have a Virtual Girls Night Out!

New to the Virtual GNO? Welcome! This party has some of the best bloggers around! The original Virtual Girls Night Out is a blog-hopping party that I started last summer. After a very long week I wished for one night away from my precious children and some adult conversation. However, I couldn't find child care so, I did the next best thing and turned to my blog friends. I'm "virtually out" with all of you!

Get Your BLOG Over Here!

To join the blog-hopping fun, check out this VGNO post then sign the MckLinky guest book with your name/blog link. Visit fellow bloggers that have signed in. It's a party so at a party you mingle, right? Go blog-hopping! I want everyone to connect. That's what it's all about.

Time For A Sing-A-Long!

If it's summertime, it's time for an Indigo Girls show!

Indigo Girls "Get Out The Map"

I love 'em!!! If you don't have an Indigo Girls cd yet, you should. (I'll tell you which are my favorites, if you need any help :-> )

I am so-o-o-o ready for a road trip. I'm ready to load up the car, grab some snacks and hit the road. Just go! Rob and I drove from Oregon to Connecticut a few times and every trip was fantastic. We had our share of car break downs, flat tires, etc. but still, those were some of the best times of my life. Oh how I would love to do that again, to take off right when the sun is coming up.

Time For A Cocktail!

Rising Sun
Ingredients:
•1 1/2 oz brandy
•1/2 oz maraschino liqueur
•1/2 oz pineapple juice
•1/2 oz orange curacao liqueur
•2 dashes Angostura bitters
•lemon peel for garnish
Preparation:
*Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice & shake.
*Strain into a chilled cocktail glass & garnish with a lemon twist.

If I have too many of these I would be taking off sometime in the afternoon, no early rising for me! Yummy Yummy!

Time For A Question

I know where I would rather be right now. I would love to be in Calistoga, CA enjoying Sparkling Wine at Mumm. Then (after the appropriate amount of time ;-> )drive along the winding roads with our top down and the tunes guiding us along. 'What's that? Another winery? Let's visit!' Ahhh, dreamy. Where would you rather be?

  3. It's a toss up between Maui - lying on a beach sipping a cocktail, and Italy (Tuscany) - drinking wine and taking in the local scenery. Either would do thank you! (ah if only)

  5. Gosh, I'd rather be anywhere else that's sunny! Maybe on the beach in Mexico where we went for our honeymoon? With a yummy drink in my hand? Yeah, that sounds better than sweaty, humid, rainy here. :)
    Happy GNO!

  12. I'd love to be somewhere warm with a slight breeze--maybe on a beach on the Amalfi Coast? Can you believe I've never been to Europe? I am going to assume that Capri or somewhere would be a great place to be right about now. Happy VGNO!

PS I've not done a road trip for so long...I'm thinking that maybe one quick one might be called for in August. Last time we drove up to Carmel and Montery from L.A. Fun!

  16. That reminds me of that scene in Meet the Fockers where Ben Stiller goes to the drug store with DeNiro and tries to buy some expensive champagne to impress his future in laws and the guy says "We've got Mumms. You can buy a bunch of Mumms."
