I had to pull out this old Santa photo. Christmas is long gone, but my oldest's attitude that shows in this picture, is not. Why? Why is her first reaction always grumpy? She's 11 now and I'm very nervous about what the teen years hold. YIKES!
(The inner dialogue for all of us in this picture holds so much. I can hear it now!)

I love Santa pics. They cause some of the most miserable and cantankerous looks on children.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh out loud (and even spell it too!) I totally get it... thanks for making me feel like our family is "normal"--- ha, ha

ReplyDeleteToo funny. I have an 11 year old step-son. I know how you feel.
ReplyDeleteOh that pic is just too precious! While I love the good, beautiful all-smiles ones, it's pics like these that show the real story that are irreplaceable. Thanks for sharing- it reminds me that not all the pictures I share with others (be it through ATWT or elsewhere) need to be "perfect."
ReplyDeleteBTW- Thanks for the comment too!
Great picture! - even Santa looks grumpy - how wrong is that? Is that you with short hair?
ReplyDeleteLovin' that face!! Santa looks uber-thrilled too, haha.
ReplyDeleteLOL - Monkey had a more fearful reaction - her pout is priceless!
