So now on to feature some of our amazing link-ups from last week! We had some yummy recipes, great tips and tricks, DIY, and some amazingly, beautiful and touching stories. I know I certainly had a hard time picking my fave...so without further ado...on to our featured link ups!

Jessica's favorite pick was from Emily at My Love For Words with her post Momopause - 7 Signs You Are Turning Into Your Mother...And How To Embrace The Change! Jessica says, "I can soo relate! I've been a mom for 19 years and I agree with every single word she wrote. Being a mom is hard work!!" I cannot disagree myself! LOL!
My-Love-for-Words

Ann's favorite pick was from Blair at Baby for Scale with her post Kids and Paint by Numbers Gardening. Ann says, "Blair consistently shares good information with nice photos in her posts as well. I hadn't heard of the Paint-by-Numbers Gardening kit and it sounds great!"

  BabyForScale

My favorite came from Molly at The Faithful & Frugal Fashionista with her post for Mommy Matters Monday: Maintaining Friendships. "Since becoming a SAHM, in some ways I have lost some contact from friends after leaving the job I had been at, but in other areas I have gained by not having the limitations of a job and being free now for lunch dates with old girlfriends or coworkers or thrift shopping days with my bestie from high school. I also feel like I have made new friends since getting into the blogging world, while many I may never meet, the link is still there as a mommy, wife, and woman."

Okay, are you ready to party?!? Well then, without further ado...I would like to welcome back my amazing co-host's for August!

Jessica Dy @ The Wondering Brain – “I'm a Gen Xer and work full time as a Special Projects Person for a university. I am also a full time mommy to 2 boys, ages 19 and 2. To top it off, I am also a full time Doctoral Learner for the University of Phoenix. I started writing this blog in January 2013 because I was suffering from writer's block in school. I like challenging myself in whatever I do. I figured if I held myself accountable for writing, why not display all my crazy thoughts out to the public? Thus, The Wondering Brain was born!”

Brittnei Washington @ Get Fit, Healthy Life - “Brittnei is a bubbly wife to Harroll Washington and mom Harroll, Jr. who loves homemaking, beauty, decor, crafts, football and healthy living. She and her husband Harroll have a home business helping people virtually and in person to lose weight and live healthier lifestyles. They sell a line of all natural products to help people tackle weight loss and obesity-related health conditions as well as a natural serum to help with wrinkles and stretch marks. If you are interested in learning about these products, you can go to her website by clicking here."

Ann Harrison @ Ann Again and Again – “I am the Owner and Writer of Ann Again... and again. I live in Portland, OR and have been blogging since 2008 with the prompting of my lovely mother who thought the silly stories of our family life should be shared with those who were ready for a good laugh. My blog title came from the fact that I don't seem to share all the information I intend with one phone call, so you'll probably receive a second call from me stating "It's Ann, again.”

Stop in and say hello to each of these wonderful ladies, because everyone enjoys a little comment love! Feel free to "meander" by some fellow bloggers and find a new recipe to make for the family, a helpful blogging tip, a funny story to read, and best of all a new friend to make! Miss Poodle Perm, That's Me!

Jill of Scary Mommy is doing a linky post about school pictures. You know the ones, possibly you didn't smile a sweet smile, just the smirk of panic. Or you didn't know it was picture day because you had been out sick for a week and you show up in your most comfortable shirt and bed-head. (Yep. That happened to me. The smile was good though!) Well, my scanner isn't working or else I would post a particular picture from Freshman year. Since I don't have a visual, here's the story: I remember my first day of High School. Actually what I remember is the picture taken of me leaving for my first day of High School. I'm wearing a brave smile, but the hair, the hair , my hair style was a nightmare. My two best friends and I were going to be attending a High School out of our district. That was stressful enough. To add to this new-ness we wanted new looks as well. K. was going to sport the Argyle and Alligator shirt look. W. was going for 'All Monogram

My Questions Answered By Chef Pati Jinich - Video

Rob and I have been focusing on finding foods and spices that will help us take some weight off.  I've been slightly obsessed with staying on my exercise track (on week 8 now :->) and hope to get rid of this jiggly belly that has become wa-a-a-ay too comfortable on my body.  The older you get the harder it is to lose weight.  What I would say to my 40 year old self - 'See that pouch starting?  Do your crunches and planks now!  7 years from now it's going to get ugly !' I've found that spices cumin, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and turmeric are noted to increase metabolism.  ( Yes please !)  After a good workout coconut water is more beneficial in regulating your electrolytes, and lower in calories, than sports drinks.  It also contains more potassium than other drinks which is an important component in helping to build muscle which, in turn, helps you burn more calories. And my most surprising discovery - eating avocados help burn belly fat! I&#
