What Was I Thinking?

I reached for the green top and thought, 'What was I thinking?'

I bought a shirt at Eddie Bauer years ago. It was a shade of green that I just love. I would wear it to take my girls to school, I would wear it when I went on errands and I would choose to wear it when the family hung out together on the weekends. It was my "go-to" shirt.

But one day I looked at it and thought 'What was I thinking?!'

It was shapeless. It wasn't long enough. It looked bad with my skin tone.

Why in the world had I chosen this shirt? How is it that I let days, months, years go by thinking that I looked good in this top?!

It now lays in the Goodwill pile.

I wonder who the next victim in my closet will be?

  1. Oh, something tells me it wasn't THAT bad on you! Besides, fair skinned people always look great in green. It's the rest of us that look pukey in it. :(

  2. i'm a big offender of suddenly realizing my tops are too short, too. i still don't know how it seems to magically happen.

  3. Lately all that adorns me is a paint/stain damaged t-shirt and yoga pants. I may change it up in warm weather for some shorts ... ohhhhh ... going out a on a limb there!

  4. I go through this all the time. I'll think back to something I wore a year ago and realize how awful it was and how glad I am that I got rid of it. And then I look at what I'm wearing that day and wonder how long it will take for me to think the same thing about that outfit.
