I Wear Plain White T's

Everyone around me seems to be branded. Comfortable showing who they support, what team they're on, where they shop. I've always felt uncomfortable showing any acknowledgement on my body.

Tattoos. You can imagine how I feel about getting a tattoo. I have difficulty deciding if my earrings are too bold.

But isn't that the point of wearing things? Representing?

Why is that so hard for me?

  1. I hear you! It's hard to make a statement out loud. I do have tatoos, but I'm still very fond of plain white tees ;).

  2. I'm with you, so I'm no help. There is zero appeal to me to wear branding.

  3. I don't like being a walking advertisement for a brand. It's bad enough that things cost so much and are wildly marked up in the first place. (I have a friend who is a shoe designer and she's told me how much things really cost these companies to make. It's appalling!) So I don't wear or own things with big logos or names obviously printed out on them. That just bugs me. :)

  4. I have enjoyed my journey through your blog page. I am attempting my first give away ever. So if you like Burger King, stop on over and enter, the gift is a Burger King gift card.

  5. Hi! I just wanted to let you know I've changed my blog name/address. My blog used to be called Diapers and Dandelions, but it's now called "Our Small Tribe". The address is http://oursmalltribe.blogspot.com

    I hope you continue to follow @ the new address!

  6. I wear plain white tees and I listen to them. In fact they have one of my all time favorite songs. Whenever I think my peeps need some love it's my dedication to them. Hmmm ~ perhaps they should be the song for VNO this week! (;

  7. I think people should dress to represent--but only to represent THEMSELVES! Style is just another way to express yourself. And before you think that you aren't by wearing a plain white tee, let me say that you absolutely ARE. To me a plain white tee says, "I am a classic. I am a lover of clean, simple lines. I do not need to scream to be heard, I don't have to have the spotlight 24/7 to be happy, I am happy to be comfortable, casual, approachable, and to my family...available. You won't find me shouting at my kids, "Don't hug Mommy--you'll wreck her fancy dress!" Sounds like a wonderful style statement to me! You keep on representin'!!!!!
