I sent such a bad message to my girls last night.
Over dinner some how the subject of money came up. My oldest said the classic line "Money can't buy you happiness" and I said 'Oh yes it can!'. My girls were surprised. This isn't what I usually say.
I'm all about Peace and Love. Cooperation and helping others. I often say 'As long as we're healthy, every thing will be just fine.' But sometimes my spirit gets weak and I say things that... well, they may be true, they don't help my girls at all.
I know why I said, 'Money can buy you happiness'. We're waiting on an application acceptance and I hate it! Money is an issue. It always seems to be the issue. I'm so tired of it.
So yeah... I do believe money can buy happiness. At least it can buy me that chocolate I've been craving.

I always say that money may not buy happiness but I sure would like to see for myself!
ReplyDeleteI do know that with no money - you have no happiness!
Sad but true!
Sad but true! I completely agree!
ReplyDeleteMoney can't buy happiness but a little doesn't hurt!
ReplyDeleteMy dad always says, "Money can't buy happiness, but it certainly wards off worry."
ReplyDeleteHe has money, so I guess he'd know. Maybe someday....
How 'bout we are given the chance to find out? You know, as a little experiment? That would work out well for me! ;)
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Groucho Marx, "Money can't buy happiness, but it surely is a lovely thing to have lying around the house." To teach them it is totally unimportant is wrong, I think you strike a lovely balance my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteMoney makes everything easier... at least that's what I've heard, from the people who have it ;)
ReplyDeleteI think that the real saying should be "money can't buy you joy!" You can have joy without money....but happiness, not so much! And it does help with that chocolate thing (and bill paying, rent, college, car insurance......need I go on?)
ReplyDeleteah in the words of mr Crabs, "more money!"
