After leaving the Liquor Store with the makings for some yummy margaritas, Hubby and I noticed a "Garage Sale" being held inside a building across the street. With our brown paper bags tucked under our arms we headed over to the sale to see what treasures we could find.
I had walked by the building many times, but had no idea of what it was all about. The title on the outside made no sense to me and Rob didn't know what it stood for either. When we entered the building we saw what looked like a hotel lobby only very stark, nothing fancy. We were told that the sale was happening upstairs.
When we reached the space upstairs we saw many teacups, ashtrays, books, and blankets. Not the treasures we were looking for but I'm sure someone would love them. As we looked over the shelves of wine glasses and flasks Rob and I talked about what to make for dinner and of some other flavors we wanted to add to our margaritas.
As we were about to leave the sale I asked the attendant where the proceeds from the sale were going. They informed us that Alano was a club to support people recovering from alcohol abuse. Uh huh... OK...
And with that information Rob and I said 'Wonderful sale you have here', walked out the door and took our brown paper bags home.
Thank goodness I wasn't wearing my Guinness t-shirt.
