Virtual GNO - Anniversary and a Large Storm

Geez! I don't know about you but I am so glad this week is over. Or, at least, I am so glad Friday is here. Number 1, because this week has felt very funky. Yesterday was such a weird combination of 'Really???' and 'Wow!!!' And, Number 2, because today is my 16th wedding Anniversary. (Love you Guitar Guy!)

I need a release! I need a party! I need a Virtual Girls Night Out!!!

First virtual party? Welcome! The original Virtual GNO is a blog-hopping party that began in the summer of 2008. I couldn't get a sitter and was in desperate need for time away from my children and some adult conversation. I decided to do the next best thing and turned to my blog friends. At least I can "get out" in my imagination.

Get Your BLOG Over Here!

To join the blog-hopping fun, check out my VGNO post then sign the Mr. Linky guest book with your name/blog link. Visit fellow bloggers that have signed in. It's a party so at a party you mingle, right? Go blog-hopping! I want everyone to connect. That's what it's all about.

Time To Move!

Last night hubby and I went to the one-woman show "Crazy Enough" from the glorious, completely #$%!@# awesome talent Storm Large. Here she is when she was on Rock Star: Supernova back in 2006.

Storm Large "Ladylike"

If there is any chance that she gets this show on the road you must go see her. This video does not do her power justice. Check out her MySpace page. (You just might get a kick out of her bands name, or offended ;-> ) Storm Large.

Time For A Cocktail!

Wedding Anniversary
Ingredients:
3 oz Vodka
3 oz Galliano
12 oz Orange Juice
1 1/2 oz Campari Bitters

Directions:
Shake with ice and strain into a glass.

Galliano is made from flowers and herbs. I can't wait to try it!

And The Lucky Winner Is...?

Last weeks VGNO had a great giveaway from our friend Julie at Skin Free. The $30 Gift Certificate goes to...

Stacie from Super Mommy To The Rescue. Congratulations Stacie! Enjoy the wonderful products.

I hope to have another terrific giveaway for my VGNO buddies next week :->

Time For A Question

Have you met the love of your life? If so, how did you meet?

I've told a little bit about the beginning of my relationship with Rob (a.k.a. "Guitar Guy") and I will go into more detail later about our fun beginning but, I don't want this VGNO post to go too long. And I'd rather hear your story! So tell me, how did you two crazy kids meet? :->

Alright now, go have fun! Sign in with Mr. Linky. If Mr. Linky isn't working please leave your blog link in the comments section below to join the Virtual GNO. Visit those that sign-in. It's a party so go mingle. Go blog-hopping! That's what it's all about. Share this party with your blog friends, post A LINK to the Virtual GNO on your blog and have them join us. Send our party into Twitter world. (#VGNO) Leave your Twitter ID in the comments section. The more the merrier! I want everyone to connect. That's what it's all about.

  1. Happy Anniversary! I met my Hubby senior year of college. Three months later, I dumped him (his words not mine). He was incredibly perfect, but I wasn't ready for a serious relationship.
Six years later, our paths cross again. Two years after that, we married. It will be seven years together in August. I am blessed.

  3. Hubby and I met on the internet isn't that crazy? It was one of those weird things we just happened to do. The funny part is that I was just going to meet him and then continue on with life and move 6000 miles away to Seattle. But we had dinner and that was it for me I was hooked :)

10 years later and he still looks good to me!

I met the love of my life in a brewery. I did a post about it but for the life of me, I can't remember what I called it! Anyway, almost 23 years later, we are still going strong!
Happy VGNO and I am thrilled this week is almost over.

  9. Happy Anniversary! I "met" my hubby our senior year of HS, during track and study hall. He was kinda the "bad boy/jock" and I was a "Artsy good girl" lol so I was hesitant to date him. But I did and found out he was one of the most caring, sweetest guys ever! We dated about 7 years before we got married (ya know, before I could finally tame him lol!). Time sure flies!

  10. Happy VGNO. First let me just say I need a Storm. Second HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.

Third to answer your question I met Kahuna at a Christmas party. He was introduced through a mutual friend. He was nice and easy on the eyes but I was no smitten. Then he called me for a date, still not smitten. Then we became friends and he grew on me. The more he grew on me the more smitten I became. He was kind of like a wart.

  26. Happy Anniversary! I met my husband at University in London, eight years ago. We hardly spoke for the first two years despite being in the same class. Then in the third year he sent me a text message asking if I wanted to meet him for a drink. A few years later we got married, moved to Canada and had kids!

  27. I met Hubby in the dorm we were living in at USC. We were "just friends" for a year(I was waiting for something better to come along!) Until one day, I literally came to my senses! and figured he was the one. It was like God spoke to me. Our first child was born exactly 4 years later to the day! Been married 16 years now. Happy 16 to you and Mr. Guitar Dude!

Dave & I met when he came to Eugene to a party at his friend's house, my roommate was dating his friend. We went to the Oregon USC game together the next day & called that our anniversary, until we got married anyway. I was dating another guy at the time, but Dave was cute & had beer....ahh, college!

  32. Hi Ann,
I think that drinky-poo is almost a Harvey Wallbanger, isn't it? (Screwdriver + Galliano = H.W.) And Galliano is orange flavored, no? I recently posted on the good old Harvey Wallbanger cake at Chicago Baking Examiner and so that's why I'm jumping up and down and being all geeky here. Happy anniv., by the way.
