You'll do great! I'm happy for you that you are working out and staying healthy. You have to be in tip top shape to chase kids around. :)
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I hope you are able to stick with it...that was my biggest challenge. I did well for a couple months and have been lazy for the last month or so...need to get back to it! I, too, at first found the gym intimidating but was pleased to find people of all shapes and sizes.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way with new situations, major anxiety. Good job conquering that!
Great job getting through the first day! You'll do it - we'll be here to cheer you on! :)
ReplyDeleteAnn, good for you! I'm right there with you, I made my first visit to my local YMCA this week. I'm totally gym-clueless, and tried really hard not to look around too much (for fear that I would psych myself out because everyone else would be buff and beautiful), but I got through my short, first workout. I'm even feeling the burn a little in my thighs today (from your new friend the elliptical). Trust me, the elliptical isn't really scary - but it will kick your butt into shape! :)
ReplyDeleteway to go, I'm impressed. I've never joined a gym, does that help?:)
ReplyDeleteWhile I have wasted a lot of money in my life, I have known myself well enough to never waste a penny on a gym membership. Now, a cheesecake factory membership? Sign me up:)
ReplyDeleteGo girl go! I'm one of those "big" ladies in there sweating my butt off! I've been working out consistently for two weeks now and I feel AWESOME! You will too! I'm so jealous you have a Personal Trainer! I'm waiting until I plateau then I'll pay for a person to tell me what I'm doing wrong, lol! I know its going to be diet and I'm really putting that off! lol Also, for me personally, I've started going to OA, the eating disorder of AA and that has helped me immensely! So, don't give up! Do what you can, don't hurt yourself and really just enjoy that sweat!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!!
First day's always toughest but I bet you will do great! I would recommend music of some sort to work out to- its the only way I can stay on the treadmill for an hour without collapsing from boredom and/or exhaustion!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!! I'm glad to see other people out there trying to get fit and healthy. Thanks for the comment and don't forget--you're always welcome over at The Bloggest Loser http://yesiknowwhatcausesthat.blogspot.com/2009/05/bloggest-loser.html
ReplyDeleteeven if you don't have tons to lose...I just want to get a community of people who will help each other going!!
P.S. You'll do awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI have major new situation anxiety too! We have a gym in our basement but it gets ignored more often than it should... we are thinking of selling everything and joining a local gym. getting out of the house and paying for a membership might motivate us more. I used to be an aerobics instructor so i just have to get back into the swing of things!! Good for you!!
ReplyDeleteGetting there is half the battle! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteNo worries, the elliptical is a piece of cake. Maybe that's the wrong wording... I actually think they are fun.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo!! So proud of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!! You got there and did it which is more than I can say for myself!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Ann! How many sessions will you have with the PT? Ah, the elliptical. When I was on a quest to lose weight I tried that sucker a few times. Nope, just wasn't workin' for me. The tread mill was my friend. But my hubby loves the elliptical!
ReplyDeleteJustine :o )
Congrats! Well Done. My neighbours have been personal trainers for over 20 years each!
ReplyDeleteI do not now, nor have I ever, belonged to a gym. I am not the gym type. I am perfectly content to work out at home. See, you were not alone.
May you enjoy your time at the gum.
Eliptical machines are the best. I think they are actually the easiest of equipment to use. I don't feel tortured like I do when using other machines. Best of luck. I think you'll like it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Don't get discouraged if you start to slack off. Getting in shape is like AA - one day at a time - if you slip, you can't just give up. You'll do great. Now as for knockknock - I love this site! When my hubby started his own biz I got him some funny stuff from them. For this contest, I LOVE the Graduate's bundle. HAPPY VGNO ♥
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing, no sleep the day before something it is the stupidest thing because you usually need to be WELL rested for the event.
ReplyDeleteI always thought elliptical's looked complicated (gym rat before they came out) but once I finally stepped on one it was like a duck in water. Just make sure your girls are tied down if you want to run on one.
Yeah for you! I just got home from work, after stopping at the gym. We have the on campus gym.. I go 4-5 times a week.. after all gravity keeps trying to have it's way!

Well, Crunches aren't for everyone! I just read a pretty good article about crunches, saying depending on how much boy fat you have, depends on whether or not you should do crunches. you should be Ok. for more info on that article, its at http://www.skinnytwinkie.com/?p=134.
ReplyDeleteAlso, cardio will be good for you too! good luck with everything!
Well good for you. I could never keep my gym love going, so now I work out at home. You're going to think I'm a freak--but I love doing crunches! I do 200 a day. Seriously. it's just part of my weirdness, not some healthy habit :)
