My Cat Is Jealous Of Wii Fit

We have this very large screen television that turns our Family Room into a drive-in theatre. In the beginning I was all "No way. It's too big." And hubby was all "There's a 25% restocking fee." And I was all "I love it."

This drive-in is perfect for the Wii Fit we were lucky enough to get for Christmas. It makes the scenes ve-e-ery life like which is great for me, but not so much for my pets. Benny, our chocolate lab, has learned to wait until I'm done boxing and snow boarding for his walk. However, my cat is not as patient. ("Pet me now damn it"! I believe is her motto.)

So I'm finishing the workout with a little Lotus Focus. What you do is sit on the board as still as you possibly can and still breathe. The screen shows you a burning candle and you are to focus on the flame. What is completely freaky about this is that all the while there are footsteps in the back ground getting louder, then running away. There is a moth flying closer and closer to the candle. Don't get to close!!! Oh man, burnt to a crisp. OK now. Focus on the flame. If you don't focus, if you jiggle just a bit, the flame will blow out and a loud voice shouts "AAAHH!" (or it just sounds like that) and a weird shape shows on the screen. My girls can't stand it. But I kinda' it.

I was doing well with my focusing. The goal is to go 2 1/2 minutes and I was almost at the end. My cat starts surrounding me. 'Go away Maddy. I'm almost done.' I whisper out of the corner of my mouth. Maddy sits on the floor right in front of me and gives me the kitty stare. You know the one.

She starts circling again and, before I know it, she jumps on my right leg. "AAAHHHH!" shouts the screen and "AAAHHHH!" I shout right back . Maddy goes flying off my leg and into the air. She knocks over my daughters art project then lands gracefully on a chair.

When I regain my composure I look over at Maddy and she seems to have a smirk on her face. Damn cat. She showed me whose boss, again.

  3. My two cats rule the house, too. Somehow the visuals on this are just too funny, Ann.

Have you tried typing around a cat. Luckily I was working on the other laptop at the time, but her butt was still in the way!

  10. Woo Hoo... I'm with JAM, movie night at Ann's this week!!!

About the cats, two our ours are sisters, and the other two are mother (Daphne in the laptop pic) and son (Kovu aka Bubba)! Of the two sisters (Emmie)one loves to get between me and the computer, and the other (Cassie)loves to join me when I get comfy on the couch. Emmie is obsessed with Tara's pillow too, sometimes' Tara has to fight her off just to be able to sleep on it!

My purpose in this family is to "serve" them all!

  11. OMG, damn cat! So, i'm not doing any locus focus or anything, but my cats still love driving me crazy. Zoe is famous for twirling between my legs while I'm walking and tripping me. Little bitch.
Hope you can complete that whole 2-1/2 minutes soon!

  17. Oh how true is that! My cats like to walk in front of me or lay beside me when i'm working out at home. Drives me insane! They think that when it's push up or sit up time that they can stand on me. The other day i was trying to finish a blog post and had my back (purposefully) to my cat, she decided that wasn't good enough and decided to jump up onto my back with claws a blazing... i have the marks to prove it... Guess she doesn't like to be ignored.
