We Interrupt This Virtual GNO

I was going through some music choices for our Virtual Girls Night Out when my husband came up from the basement and said that we were flooding.
What?!?
Ah, of course. Oregon's soil can only hold so much rain. Now we're going through flooding and mud slides. Yeah for the Pacific Northwest!
Guitar Guy figured the gutter was full of leaves and that was creating a lovely waterfall right into our window well. So out into the elements he goes, ladder in hand.

(I did what any self respecting blogger would do and took pictures!)

Up the ladder he goes on a dark and stormy night

Getting a little tipsy!

That part is done so let's go soak up water in the basement. Hey! I know just the thing!

What's that?

YEAH! ShamWow saves the day!

No, I am not getting carried away with infomercials, my mom bought these for the family and I'm really glad she did. It did a great job. (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink ShamWow people. You could send me another if you wanna :-> )

So that's what I did last night instead of having fun at our Virtual Girls Night Out. I hope to make up for it next Friday.

  1. Oh, man! Great pics. You husband looks like a real trooper. I always wanted to try the Sham Wow. Glad to hear it really works. I had a good feeling when I saw all those Olympic divers using them. I'm sorry you are getting his by Mother Nature. Best wishes to you to get back to normal soon.

  4. That's funny. My neighbor was using a shamwow today for just drying off his car and he said it sucks. Maybe he wasn't doing it right or something?

Hope you're all dried up now...your basement I mean.

  12. A few weeks ago our gutters were full of ice and I told my husband if he didn't get it knocked out the gutters would fall of.

Long story short, your husband on the ladder looks very familiar. Hope your flood wasn't too bad.

  16. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!! You may recall that we lived through the basement flooding not that long ago. It sucks!! I'm glad you weathered the storm. ShamWow - really? Hmmmm.....I just bought my mom some Aqua Globes.

  17. Oh man! He's a great guy. Our gutters are full and causing a problem. Trouble is, we need a very tall ladder for the back side of the house and we don't have one that is umpteen feet tall! Need one like that for part of the front, too. With moss growing on the roof, we're going to need to get some work done in the coming year on our house and the rental next door. So fun...

  19. I read about the Shamwow on your blog last night, then saw the infomercial on TV just this morning! How ironic?! Of course, now I'm completely convinced that I do indeed NEED some too!
