MSN Maps... You've Lost Me

MSN Map, I'm done with you. DONE I tell you!

I had made an appointment for this morning at 8:30 am. No problem, I thought. I'll drop my girls off at school and make it right on time. Last night I printed the directions from MSN Maps and thought I would be just fine. Oh-no-my-friend. I was not fine.

After half an hour I called the appointment to find that I was so-o-o flippin' far away from where I needed to be. I was almost directly ACROSS from where I needed to be! They talked me down and guided me in the right direction.

When I got home I checked with MSN Map again and they gave the exact same directions as before. I tried to contact them to let them know how full of S*%T they were but, to no avail.

So let me pass on a find. My mother told me to try Rand McNally. I did, and they gave the EXACT and PRECISE directions that I needed. (I know this now after the fact.)

So I'm passing this on to one and all. Change is here! Get your directions from RandMcNally.com!!! I hope this helps more lost souls :->

  1. That's what happened to some people at the hotel we were staying at in Boston. We used the hotel map that was online, the other people used MSN Map and got totally lost. They were quite frantic by the time they got to the hotel to check in. I really got an ear full! LOL!

  2. Mapquest is awful like that too. (Another one to avoid!) The mistakes are RIDICULOUS!
We finally got sick of printing out directions and practically driving off the road trying to find them. So we bought a small GPS, which as been AWESOME! I definitely recommend it!

  3. This happens to me with Mapquest. I hate it when Mapquest tricks me and has me driving around in circles. I'm definitely going to try Rand! :)

  4. Hiya Ann!

Happy New Year (belated) and Oh, Happy Day (Inauguration)! I hate that I got so behind on your blog during the crazy holiday season. I am laughing out loud and enjoying getting caught up on your life!

Thanks for the obama me icon site. I have had loads of fun and have passed it along to tons of people. We Obama-ites are going to take over! ;)

Make sure you give us all plenty of heads up on your next Virtual GNO. I am definitely there!

Here's to getting to know you better in the New Year!

    Cheers, Kimberly

  5. Ooh those map services! I've used it too, and gotten really dumb directions on off-streets and back alleys instead of main avenues and well-driven areas!! Scary!

  6. Map Quest does that too! I was trying to find a college in Orlando and it gave me the wrong directions and we got so lost that I ended up missing the tour that we had driven 3 hours to take! Agh! So frustrating.

Thanks for the Rand Mcnally tip. I'll have to try that next time.
