What's In My Coffee?!

I don't know what's come over me today but I'm ready to throw everything in the dumpster. Maybe not EVERYTHING. Some, of course, would be donated. But today I'm looking around thinking 'What is this doing here?' 'Why do I have this?' and 'Where did this come from?'
I'm finding things that I haven't used for years, and yet I keep holding on to them because of that one thought "One day I might need this".
Well today out it goes!!!! I'm sick of the clutter!!!
Do you ever look around your house and say "What the...?"

  3. HA! I've lived in 9 homes while being married 10 years. Everytime we move, I throw out a shitload of stuff. The people I feel REALLY sorry for are the ones that have lived in the same house for 20+ years...*shudder*

  7. Change of seasons - it does me in every time. I was actually doing the same thing this morning as I switched out the boys drawer :)

  8. I LOVE throwing things away. I have the opposite problem of clutter, I never have the paperwork I need because I've trashed it all!

Thanks for adding me to your blog roll :) Good luck with the contest! ... And I decided on advertising around the same time I decided to cut out my daily Starbucks! If I can earn a buck a day or so, why not?

  9. The crazier my life is. The busier or more OUT of CONTROL I feel- the more I become insane about clutter and cleaning. It is as if my mind thinks that if I can AT LEAST get my house in order...I will have more 'room' for all the other activites going on! So yes, I have looked at my house and said WT....many times. Today actually!!!

  10. I love to purge! I am at the point where I don't have that much stuff anymore(and it feels so good!). We recently moved and we got rid of so much junk! Amazing what you accumulate over the years!

  11. Only all the time!! My husband rarely lets me throw anything away, so I have to do it behind his back. It's usually not until a year or so later that he's all, "have you seen my...." and I can honestly say, "NO! Not in at least a year!! hmmm..." ;)

  12. Totally! We're in our apartment for a year now and there are boxes of stuff we still haven't opened! It's soooo bad but I just can't bring myself to deal with it. :) That's what second bedrooms... and doors... are good for!

  13. Oh, I totally feel that way sometimes. You know that television program Cleen Sweep where they give you something like an hour to go through your house and keep what you want? The rest is dumped on your driveway for your neighbors to see? It would be humiliating for a minute, but how clean and organized would your house be?

I loved your post on Mary Anne's blog. I'm glad we found each other too!

And you know, the veep debate was such a let down. It was like finally getting a date with the quarterback in high school and he ends up being a nose picker or something. Ugh!

  17. Last week Friday I spent the day packing away summer clothes, setting out winter clothes and placing a laundry basket of items aside for donation. I try to do this seasonally by the rule "If I didn't wear this piece this year it's otta here." It feels great to walk into and uncluttered room and feel the satifaction of KISS (Keep It SImple Stupid). Not to mention I may have helped someone by donating clothes & gotten an tax write of in the process.

  18. I absolutely love throwing all my stuff away. However, I have a bunch of current clutter that I can't get through. I'm getting through the old clutter to make room for the new clutter! That's how I roll!

  21. I have been in this mode for the past couple of weeks! I went on a cleaning/organizing spree and I gave away--I'm not kidding--over 20huge black garbage bags full of clothes. Plus about that many bags of stuff I just threw away.

It's such a great feeling to declutter! I made a dent, but still have a ways to go...

  22. I've been thinking this for the past week. There's just way too much stuff in this house. Today I've been cleaning (my mil comes tomorrow for a 3 week vaca - yay!) and if I could just chuck everything right now I would! :)
