Is It Wrong Part IV

Time again to ask the question "Is it wrong...?"

... to want a vacation away from the family you just spent your vacation with?

... to not mind returning from your family vacation with a cold because that gives you some excuse to not play with your children? (You don't want mommy to get worse do you?)

...to be jealous of your husband because after the second day back from the family vacation he left to go to a conference for a week?! A week!

Not that I've thought any of these things, just wondering.

  1. I see nothing wrong with any of that. Everyone deserves some personal space, and that is hard to come by on family vacations!

Just think about all the quality time you all had together. That will hold them over for a day or two.

And just in case you were wondering...there is NOTHING wrong for serving cereal for supper either.

  2. So glad to know that I'm not the only one who has those thoughts.
Like, "Is it wrong to secretly be happy that your child is at the neighbor's house playing inside and that you can have 30/60 plus minutes alone to breathe, do housework, nap, or do something that YOU want to do?
I feel like a horrible mom as I sometimes love not having him around (though I love him to pieces and can't imagine not having him).

  3. Why, no, my friend, it is NOT wrong. I always need a vacation after my vacation.

  5. NOT AT ALL...oh sorry for yelling that, just sayin'! ;) I'm taking a six pack to my girlfriend's house tonight for a 'break' from the already fighting routine going on here!

No fair for your Hub either!

  7. I'm trying to unpack the car from the vacation we just returned from... and COMPLETELY understand. My mom used to say sometimes a vacation w/ little kids isn't so much a vacation as the same chores you do at home without the benefit of familiar surroundings and routine. :)

  9. Random...you get me because you are the only other person on earth that not only has heard of the movie Fandango...lists it as a favorite! Now if they only came out with the music soundtrack...

  14. I have those thoughts after every family vacation. How bad will be after two months of vacation? Ugh. Today I kept the girls "home" while hubby went on a 12 hour scenic train ride through the Scottish highlands. What should I do on my day off? (if I get one). We had a fine day though - but I think I threw my back out. Please send a therapist.
