Mean Mama Bear

I can really be mean sometimes.
My daughter has a classmate who is a little...and I truly mean "little", bully.
My 10 year old has had a problem with this little twit since 1st grade.
Every year teachers work with her, hoping that things will get better but they don't.
(Of course it stems from her home life. I know that, and try not to be so angry. But when my child is threatened Mama Bear comes out!)
As it turns out this little twit was on my daughters softball team. She showed her true colors and the coaches couldn't stand her either. And the thing is, you feel so bad for not liking a child so much. (But if she's like Damian, what's a person to do?)
So the season finally comes to an end and the coaches take the team to an adorable amusement park in our area Oaks Park. Lots of fun rides and games.
Going to the park I knew that Little Twit wouldn't be tall enough, and I stood back to watch the response.
After being left behind 3 times while her teammates went on the Looping Thunder, DiskO and the Octopus she started to cry.
One of the coaches went over to her and tried to cheer her up. (And here comes my horrible mean streak.) I took this opportunity to take some pictures.
I saw that Little Twit was standing by a sign that read "You Must Be This Tall To Ride This Ride". I asked her to try and smile while I took her picture.
'Scoot over a little bit... a little more. There we go!'
Yep, I took a picture of that bully standing way below the line with a big smile on her face.
I wonder what I'll do with it?
Man, I am so mean.

  1. Not mean really...you didn't do anything TO her.

Mean would have been starting a group chant:

    "You're not tall enough!"

    "You're not tall enough!"

Bullies are the worst. She was literally not tall enough for the ride, but later is life she will figuratively not be tall enough for a lot of things. Then maybe she will figure it all out.

  2. I think that was good therapy for you! And it wasn't really that mean...
I, too, feel guilty for not liking one of my son's "friends" who is a bossy little know-it-all and has been all his life. I am so hoping that the family's move to another town goes through.

  3. Sometimes it is the little things that get us through the day with a smile. Karma is a little bitch isn't she - and she can't ride the rides!! ha ha

  5. Good for you- you keep using whatever evil ways you have to to protect your pups- everyone hates a bully!

  6. I almost snorted with laughter. Okay, so I don't have any kids that need protecting but I do understand the passive-aggressive revenge tactics. I love your way of thinking!

  9. Oh yeah I'm with you on that one. I would save it for high school when this kid needs a knock down a few rungs on the ladder.

  12. My issue is that there are so many moms that I like...but their kids, not so much. I tend to be rather passive agressive myself. And think my mean thoughts...and talk a big game...but no follow through.

  14. Hi Ann!

I don't blame you a bit. there are some kids you just can't like, especially when they're mean to your own kids. I'm the same way, believe me!
