Spring Break '08

One week off just doesn't seem enough. The weather broke for a quick run to the ocean. 40 degrees? A slight sprinkle? It doesn't matter. Katie and Lily were determined to play in the sand. Their fingers were frozen, however some semblance of a sand-castle must be made. Ah, the Oregon Coast in March.

Lack of Coordination

Perhaps we should check the coordination of "Right/Left Brain Hemispheres" while choosing a President.

It's All About Me...not so much

So my husband is watching our daughter at softball practice. She's having difficulty focusing and it's getting a bit annoying. My husband had just about had it when Katie put her mitt on her head while standing in the outfield, in the wrong direction. When she turned back around Rob starting waving his arms trying to get her attention, motioning for her to look at the coach, stand ready and basically just pay attention. She, in turn, starts waving her arms at him. He tries to motion to stop doing that, just look at the coach. She continues to wave like crazy. This is driving him nuts. After a while Rob turns around to see that Katie's friend had been standing right behind him, waving at Katie. Rob realizes that she hasn't been paying attention to him at all. He does the smoothing the hair/dusting the pants/tying the shoes thing to make it seem like that was what he was doing all along. Aren't kids great?!?

Buzz Kill

So I'm walking my dog while my two little girls are riding their bikes. We are on a busy street, which happens to be the street we live on. It's a beautiful afternoon, the birds are singing, the flowers are blooming. All of a sudden a black pick-up truck drives by and the young passenger yells out the window "Hey, you're a B***h!" and keeps on driving. I turned to look at the car and took out my cell phone to take a picture but I wasn't fast enough. My oldest daughter was shaken and I was PISSED!!! I have a strong suspicion it's someone from her school which makes me even crazier! I told her it was directed at me. (I didn't want her to be scared while at school, if I can help it.) UGH!!! I'm trying not to obsess about it. But it keeps creeping back into my mind. Is bullying at school following her home?
