Manners

So I'm following this lovely older couple into the grocery store. I actually slowed my pace so as not to pass them and seem obnoxious/rude. We arrive at the door way and the woman walks in and the gentleman (truly) steps aside and graciously has me go ahead of him. "Ladies first". I was so stunned, yet appreciative. This kind of behavior only seems natural to "older" gentlemen. Do young men learn this polite manner these days? I don't think so. Sad. Sad that it took me by surprise.

What To Do On Valentine's Day - Make "Chocolate Orbit Cake"

For Valentine's Day here's a plan... Go rent " Serendipity ". (Or purchase , in my opinion.) Then make " Chocolate Orbit Cake " Ingredients: One 9 3/4 oz. bar Scharffen Berger semisweet chocolate, broken into small pieces. (Or another high grade semisweet chocolate.) 15 tablespoons unsalted butter (2 sticks minus 1 tablespoon) 5 eggs, room temperature 1 cup granulated sugar * Gently whipped cream (optional) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease the bottom and sides of a 9-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray. Line the bottom with a round of parchment, or wax paper, grease lightly and set aside. In the top of a double boiler set over simmering water, combine the chocolate and butter, whisking until melted and blended. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well-blended. Gradually whisk in the chocolate mixture until blended. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Place the pan in a larger baking pan.

Time To Share

I wanted to share a website that is great for mom's. Mamasource . It is a great space to ask questions, vent or find businesses that are locally owned and operated by moms. I recently sent a question out to the Mamasource world and had such an incredible response! I received a lot of support and found some like-minded moms. If this sounds like something you're missing, check it out. http://www.mamasource.com/
